"Portraits d'Humanité" , Beijing 2008
To honour Humanity in the spirit of the Olympic Games on giant video screens all over the city of Beijing 11.000 video portraits of citizens of China and of the world Each person is presented during 3 seconds: the time for a twinkle, a smile, a greeting... in a global family portrait filmed by a French artist, Pierre Lobstein, who has been working with this concept for more than twenty years in 17 cities around the world The presentation is a tribute to the values of the French revolution -liberty, equality, fraternity-, to the invention of the moving pictures by the Lumière brothers, to the creation of the modern Olympic Games by Pierre de Coubertin, and to the People of China who are hosting this XXIX Olympiad All the world will be watching Beijing during the Games Humanity salutes Humanity

The video portraits of the citizens of Beijing will be filmed during spring/summer 2008 and will be shown, with the portraits from the other 17 cities, in sequences of 30 seconds each |
